HyFonic 1 ®
An Extended Environment Sound-Absorbing UL 94HF1 Foam By Foamex
General Description
HyFonic ® 1 is a combustion-modified polyether polyurethane foam developed to resist hydrolytic degradation. It resists degeneration from hot, humid environments; nonair-conditioned or intermittently air conditioned environments. It can withstand intermittent temperatures as high as 250 degrees F, and as low as -40 degrees F it shows no evidence of cracking or tearing when bent around a mandrel equal in diameter to the foam thickness.
Noise-Absorbing Characteristics
HyFonic ® 1 was developed primarily as a noise-absorbing foam. It has fine pore structure, 65 pores-per-lineal-inch (ppi), that helps give it a better noise-absorbing performance than conventional foams. It is also a more consistent absorber and has a narrower range of variance than conventional foams.
